ASA Radar exam and endorsement certification
Who can attend? Anyone,...
but: we strongly recommend that you have some cruising or navigation experience.
Ideally, students should have completed Bareboat Bareboat Charter and/or
Coastal Navigation before you take the clinic, but again, these courses
are not rigidly required to attend.
Prerequisites for ASA
Endorsement
None, but to master the material well
enough to pass the exam, you'll probably need some prior navigation experiene
or training. We'll talk to you about your prior experience before
signing you up!
What should you bring?
You need a PC or Mac laptop that is running
Windows. You'll use this for the simulator program. We don't
have loaner laptops.
(Mac users unfamliar with running Windows:
you'll need two things. 1: A copy of Windows to install from CD;
2. Parallels or VM Fusion software. Ask your closest Apple store
for support with this. You'll install the Parallels or VM Fusion
first.)
